The OPTAER® lagoon based wastewater treatment system is suitable for new or upgrades of existing lagoon systems where increased capacity, improved BOD, TSS, phosphorus, ammonia, and/or total nitrogen removal is required. It can include lagoon aeration, flow control baffles, algae control covers, SAGR® (Submerged Attached Growth Reactor), and tertiary filters as needed to meet a wide range of effluent requirements.

The SAGR® (Submerged Attached Growth Reactor) is designed to follow lagoons or other secondary treatment processes to provide nitrification in cold water temperatures. The SAGR® reliably achieves effluent total ammonia levels below 1.5 mg/l at water temperatures below 0.5°C/32.9°F, and below 1.0 mg/l at warmer water temperatures.
